On Easter Sunday: The Great Easter Egg Hunt
On Sunday the 12th and on Monday the 13th of April 2020 in the afternoon.
This special event is reserved for the delight of children on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday afternoons. There are more and more participants every year. So be warned that participation is limited to those who have signed up in advance!
Workshops for decorating eggs, making an Easter basket, crafting wooden eggs with the wood turner and introductory rock climbing.

Meeting in gardens
On Sunday the 7th of June 2020.
Candlelight Night from 7pm to midnight on Saturday evening the 6th of June 2020.
Connecting with this national event, Marqueyssac’s gardens will be the setting of a set vegetable and flowered compositions staging the images of the patrimony. This exhibition of fragile and short-lived works will be realized by students from “l’ Atelier de Mo” located in the area of Toulouse. These students will be at the visitor’s disposal to reveal some of their secrets and give them advices for making up a bunch. Demonstrations of boxwood pruning will be given by the gardeners of Marqueyssac and a local company specialized in pruning who work together since the restoration of gardens in 1996. They will be very glad to answer visitors questions.
Via Ferrata will be in process during all the day.

Marqueyssac ’s Candlelight Night
Every Thursday evening, two thousand candles are placed throughout the gardens and more than 150 sources of light outline the cliff walk and falls.
At twilight, the romance of Marqueyssac and its extraordinary gardens is enhanced by this play of shadows and light, highlighting the beauty of the cliff and its vegetation.
At sunset, it is a dream come true to discover the Dordogne valley with its majestic castles and most beautiful villages all illuminated : Castelnaud, Beynac, La Roque-Gageac…
Every Thursday four musical entertainments
punctuate the walk:
* A pianist at the tearoom
* Indian dances by the ‘Tribu du Poète’ at the rotunda
* A jazz music group, Swing Guitar with Anne Griffith, on the Esplanade
* A saxophone quartet on the Great Walk
* A guitar and vocals duet, ‘Duo Joskat’, at the sandwich bar
Entertainment and show for children:
* Workshop of candle modelling
* “Les Marraines Fées” by Lilou’s Company : a charming ambulatory show of fairies on stilts, full of sweetness and poetry

Last admission at 11.00 pm.
For a complete visit of the gardens, you need to come one hour before sunset.
No need to book in advance.
Twin ticket with the Castle of Castelnaud is not valid for the candlenight evening.
